The interiors of our renovated Ciabot cottages, with their rustic yet chic style, featuring a mix of antique and modern furniture. Ciabot, if you're wondering, are small country houses that were once found in Piedmontese vineyards. They were shelters where farmers slept, ate, or took refuge from the sun on hot days. Today, they are charming, much-loved country-chic furnishings. The Ciabot are three charming accommodations in two buildings with an ancient soul, nestled in the embrace of a breathtaking panorama: two two-story apartments for 6 guests each and an independent attic studio for 2 people. Those who, like me, were born among these hills know that each Langa has its own unique character. When I climbed between the rows of vines to these little houses, just six minutes from Monforte d'Alba, I met one of the most beautiful views of the Barolo and white truffle region. Here your gaze reaches far into the distance: it passes over a large wood populated by badgers and roe deers, flies over the vine-grown slopes and their geometries, until it reaches the mist in the valley. And on sunny days it embraces no fewer than 11 Langa villages!

A glass of white wine, the sun gliding over the rows of vines, warm water enveloping you... And the heated Finnish tub (for the exclusive use of Ciabot Barolo): with ergonomic benches and space for 4-6 people, it's not just an accessory, but the real detail that makes the difference between a weekend away and a truly relaxing experience! A small luxury that evokes nature and contemplation. The outside of the property is fenced in with vineyard poles and steel cables: a grape-free row in dialogue with its landscape. The Langa stone paths alternate with borders planted with native species and quince trees: even in the garden, every detail is in harmony with the surrounding area, starting with the absence of herbicides for lawn cultivation and an irrigation system that uses water from the well.

The ciabot are accessed directly from the street. Thanks to conservative restoration, these small buildings have been converted into three charming apartments in Monforte: structures with low environmental impact that retain their ancient soul. A deep respect for the origins that I found even in the choice of colours: the railings of the terraces and the outside plasters recall the tones of the wet Langa soil, to the point that when it rains it becomes difficult to distinguish them. Two out of the three housing units open up to the outdoor garden on the ground floor and to a large terrace overlooking the rows of vines on the first floor, to feel the embrace of nature at every moment of the day. Be it a slow breakfast or a glass of Barolo in good company while the sunset is turning the sky red.

The interior design choices for this vacation home in the Langhe region also nod to the natural surroundings and history of these places. From the clay walls to the lime plaster, from the living area with exposed wooden beams to the handcrafted terracotta flooring, every detail seems to tell a story of a time that has left its mark.
